Our private self defence classes for women, men, kids and teens are designed to equip you with practical techniques and strategies to handle real-life situations effectively.

Our Beaconsfield Upper studio is centrally located only a short 10 minute drive from Berwick, Narre Warren, Beaconsfield, Officer, Emerald and Pakenham

Whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience, your instructor Louis will provide personalised and practical self defence training that works.

Self Defence Programs

At Real Life Martial Arts, Louis has thoughtfully crafted self defence programs that span over the course of 8 weeks, dedicated to improving your self-defence skills to make sure that participants know how to defend themselves in real life situations. Learn together with others in a class of 4, located in a safe cushioned studio that allows for safe falls when practicing sweeps, throws and takedown techniques.

Each program consists of 45-minute sessions over a 8-week term for only $464 (or $58 per session/week.)

Session times range from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 7:30pm. Participants attend one session per week.

1) Self-defence, Boxing & Kickboxing Skills for Teens

Help your teenager learn how to defend themselves as they grow older and explore their independence in this unpredictable world. This 8-week program will help your teen learn self-defence and understand how to apply it in real life scenarios.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

BASIC STRIKES

Our self defence classes cover fundamental striking techniques that can be used to fend off an attacker effectively. You'll learn how to deliver punches, kicks, elbow, palm and knee strikes with precision and power.

DEFENSIVE MANOEUVERS

We teach various defensive techniques to protect yourself from physical attacks. You'll learn to block, evade, and escape from grabs, holds, and other common assault scenarios.

GROUND DEFENCE

In self defence situations, knowing how to defend yourself is essential if the confrontation goes to the ground. Our instructor Louis will teach you techniques to neutralise threats and regain control in ground-based encounters.

REALISTIC SCENARIO TRAINING

Our training includes practical scenario-based exercises to prepare you for real-life situations. These simulations help you apply self-defence techniques under controlled yet authentic conditions, improving your reaction time and decision-making abilities.

VERBAL STRATEGIES

Self defence is not always about physical confrontation. We believe in the power of effective communication and non-violent de-escalation techniques. You'll learn how to use verbal and psychological strategies to diffuse potentially dangerous situations.

SELF DEFENSE WEAPONS

While our program focuses on unarmed self-defence, we also provide training on using improvised tools at your disposal. Louis will guide you on legal and ethical considerations associated with self-defence weapons.
